23 FEB 2017: MAVERICK MEETS MAVERICK.

LAUNCH OF THE JEEP RENEGADE DESERT HAWK SPECIAL EDITION. WITH BRITISH BOARDER, ALEX BIRD.

There’s only one man who could give the Renegade Desert Hawk the launch it deserved. Enter British board-rider and instructor, Alex Bird. A vehicle that lives for adventure, with a man who lives life on the edge. They met in Braunton Burrows sand dune, North Devon, to perform a series of sandboarding stunts and tricks to launch this Special Edition model in style. The result was a breath-taking mix of skill, adrenaline and technical aptitude.

Using its Trail Rated 4x4 capability the Renegade Desert Hawk helped Alex reach speeds of 40mph and negotiate grinding rail stunts and 90-feet sand banks. Securing this impressive feat was a formidable feature line-up, including Jeep Active Drive Low with 20:1 crawl ratio; Selec-Terrain system which includes a Rock, Mud, Snow and Sand mode, 8.7-inch ground clearance, 8.1-inch wheel articulation and Hill-descent Control.

Along with its ‘Go anywhere. Do anything’ DNA, the Renegade Desert Hawk’s bold design shows that it was built for a challenge. Available in Alpine White, Anvil, Black or the exclusive Mojave Sand, the Jeep Renegade Desert Hawk features 17-inch Low Gloss Black wheels and exclusive decals. With a stylish interior, including front seats featuring the topography of the Moab desert, every aspect of the Desert Hawk radiates a sense of adventure.

It’s difficult to say who stole the show, but Alex was impressed:

“I’ve never done anything like that before. It took time to get used to being towed at such speeds but I do a lot of wakeboarding and it was principally very similar. The car performed incredibly well on such deep sand; if it wasn’t so good off-road there is no way I could have got up to 40mph and nailed the jumps and stunts.”

The Renegade Desert Hawk made no comment.
